If you want to dismiss me as Karen, I guess Iâll accept it. Not sure if youâve read the whole thread or not. Even if you have, youâre going to interpret it the way you want to interpret it.
The first commenter asked a question. I provided an answer to the question. Couple of other comments. Then Ben comes in with a dismissive response. Things progress from there. Many people have acknowledged a lack of transparency. Some have acknowledged rude and dismissive behavior towards customers and the community.
Now Ben has made a hasty decision to pull stock and make a spectacle, maybe to place the focus on me so that you and others have someone to blame instead of him. However, that decision rests solely on him.
This could have all been resolved with a quick correction of a misstep. Instead it was dragged out over two days resulting in a decision that is seemingly bad for both YYF and the community. Youâre welcome to place the blame on me if you want.
I dismissed it because I believed people shopping for $60 non-entry level YoYos on YoYoExpert were savy enough to make a decision for themselves. I believed they were provided with the resources to make this decision. You disagree.
I now agree with you. Not all people could make this decision for themselves. There are people who lack the analytic and deductions ability. I did overestimate the audience.
I should have known better. This is also why we sell a lot of dv888s.
Ben, youâre delusional if you think that I was calling your customer base (and the community) stupid or ignorant. Youâre also delusional if you think that 100% of buyers would feel adequately informed about purchasing a flawed product simply by you placing a cryptic disclaimer all the way at the bottom of the page (which flies in the face of how things are usually done).
I donât know how to explain it any better. But I donât think your case is getting any stronger.

@Benmichael86 clicks on a thread and perceives wrong-doing when someone posts about a sketchy situation. He steps in and voices concern with hope to improve a situation (i.e. to ensure that the community is well-informed about the purchases for which they use their hard-earned money).
We are in a very similar situation, and I commend you for following your conscience and doing your due diligence.
I will continue doing my due diligence, as long as I feel it necessary.

Strong jab at the end. Honestly, my very first comment answering the first posterâs question. It was very non-controversial.
The rest came after a slightly hostile response which turned into a full blown conversation surrounding a questionable business choice and a pattern of disrespectful behavior, which you yourself even recognized.

I agree with you, but I also see him giving great, useful advice to competitors (me!). He was the one who dropped that knowledge bomb thread about the impact of the US/China trade war on yoyos.
People have bad days. That man helping steer the massive ship that is our industry in positive directions and I appreciate that.
Maybe Iâm being overly defensive of someone who is really just someone I met a couple times, but Iâve seen great things heâs done. (Iâve also seen him steaming in Iceland after a kendama demo haha)
I did say that I have no qualms with the guy, so I think we are on the same page here. I think his PR could use some work, thatâs all.

YYF did nothing wrong.
Now for my subjective opinion:
This is a made in the USA yoyo thatâs not +$100. The pale ano spot is on the least visible place of the yoyo and it does not affect play. If that bothers you, you clearly care more about looking at yoyos than playing with them, Which is completely and perfectly fine. But then, realize you were not the target audience for this yoyo and let it go.
