I sent it to YoyoFactory, and recently one of them came to life. ;D The color is dead on. YoyoFactory sent me a few of these in the mail. Grind finish on that plastic now, and a collectible hard case packaging. I’ll update this with a spinning shot. Maybe I’ll give one away in the Splash Game soon (here or Instagram).
We may come up with another idea But, for that game, borrow a friend’s throw and snap a pic haha. I’ll see what answers I can get about any production information. The new Protostar color looks amazing!
I really hope they release a run of these for like Breast Cancer Awareness Month or something because that looks stunning. If they do i might suggest the make it a tad different to keep the exclusivity of the original high
Haha. I really enjoy CLYW, and nice people running the show over there. But Da Fact’ry is my favorite! They just have that sweet spot that is just right for me. I prefer heavier throws, and long spin times, certain shapes and designs. They always seems to get it right for me. I even have a little nickname for it now (hip-hop style). 8)
Oh, and they happen to be the leading maker of my favorite colorway.

In the email, I asked him“well…what do you think?”
The photo had Protostars, including purple and pink.
He thought they were cool, two colors were new,
Protostar had already been in red and blue ,
Although the mock photo was something he liked,
I never thought I’d see the new color in real life,
When I thought of pink, there were none for sale,
Da Fact’ry was nice to send me some in the mail,
I opened up the box, three throws and two stickers,
I set up a spot, so I could take some new pictures,
I saw it on camera, I was Protostar smitten,
Just enamored, the first time I saw it spinning,
Still shots, spinning, and with the box as a stand, ,
And, I got so many likes when they posted on Instagram,
The Protostar is a classic, for competition status,
One of the best plastics, in a hard case package,
Protostar with a new look, and it aint over,
This one’s in the books, as one sick makeover.
What a nice gift, I was elated…so happy,

I agree, certain colors have to be the right shade. For me, pink is one of them. This one is the perfect shade of pink, and the translucent adds even more appeal.
