Been throwing for a while and am looking to upgrade my current yoyo. Mind helping a fellow out?
-I do know how to bind
-The yoyo that I am currently using is a YoYo Jam classic with Large C size bearings (I think) It is unresponsive, just the way I like it.
-I don’t really have a shape preference. Haven’t tried heaps and I don’t particularly mind the shape on my classic, I’m open to trying new things.
-No weight preference either, maybe a little heavier than my classic? But it doesn’t bother me.
-The Most I can probably spend is around $50.
-I was looking at the Replay Pro, and the Shutter. Not sure if it is worth waiting and saving a little more more a metal seeing as I have my classic, or getting the Replay and not spending as much.
-I don’t prefer a certain brand
-Am I looking for a yoyo that specialises a style? Like looping, off string, freehand, etc. No
-Do I prefer a certain response system? No
-Do I want hubsstacks or z stacks? Don’t care
-What trick am I currently working on? I am currently making my way through the advanced trick section on this site.
-Do I want a yoyo to Thumb grind or arm grind good? At this point I don’t care, but It would be nice to have decent thumb/arm grind capabilities for when I progress more.
I’d suggest upgrading to a metal yoyo. I prefer an upgraded Classic over a Replay Pro anyway, not that that’s necessarily a majority opinion.
A couple of my favorite seriously budget-minded yoyos are the Magic YoYo N12 and the YoYofficer Kilter 2.
Other than the Shutter you already mentioned, you could also take a look at these…
YoYoFactory Genesis - Updated model released quite recently, the best I’ll mention in terms of learning new tricks on.
YoYoFactory Too HOT - Comfortable shape, laid back, but performs when the lights go on.
Recess Joyride - From a new company. Like the Too HOT, it’s a bit more relaxed of a yoyo compared to the other options. Nothing but enjoyable to throw.
YoYofficer Musket - Another yoyo that plays better than its price tag. Kind of reminiscent of the Chief. Definitely worth a look.
I know how you feel trying to chose a yoyo. But the truth of the matter is that most of them nowadays are very good, and it all comes down to preference.
