Need a new under $20 yo-yo

  • I’m looking for a new yo-yo, provided that I can get a better one than my current for under $20

  • I’ve read through some posts, most point to YYJ Lyn Fury or YYF Stackless PGM (SPGM’s no longer sold, is a Die-Nasty just as good?)

  • Doing string tricks mostly, so I’m looking for longest sleep time, unresponsive out of the box (I bind), and adjustable gap preferably (not required)

  • Currently have a “Super Aqua Dragon” [pic] (I was told it looks like a Yomega Hyperwarp Wing, with slightly diff. specs)

  • It sleeps for a decent amount of time (I think around 2 minutes)

Specs:

Shape Butterfly / Wing
Weight 42g (lighter than YHMM's 54.40g)
Width 35mm (wider than YHWW's 30.34mm)
Diameter 59mm (bigger than YHWW's 57.53mm)
Gap Type Fixed (same as YMHH)
Stock Response System Starburst (same as YMHH)

Based on all that info, would it be a good idea to get a new under-20 yo-yo?
Or is my Super Aqua Dragon right up there with the best uder-20 yo-yos?
Or maybe a new bearing for my Super Aqua Dragon would put it above the rest?

Insight appreciated. Thanks!

As said in the past, no yoyo is better than another, just different. You could go with any of the plastics from YYJ, YYF, or just about any other company. All of them are good. If they weren’t good, why would they be sold?

Yeah…
Since you are new.
Just choose anything…
With that you will find your preferences…

responsive or not? responsive yoyo would be the velocity, and not would be the pocket change. but really, up to you.

Velocity is adjustable so they can be responsive OR unresponsive…

Well as I keep reading more and more, it seems like the Stackless PGM was one of the best under-20 yoyo, but they no longer make them.
Is the Die-Nasty anywhere near as good?

I know it’s hard to quantify “good”, but there’s gotta be some general consensus.

I don’t like the Pocket Change’s colors, to be honest.

And I haven’t heard much about the Velocity.

All of them are good.

Why do you need a new one under $20?

If your ready for unresponsive the Die-Nasty is great… One of my favorite throws…

If not the Velocity is great too, it plays well responsive AND unresponsive
