What do you mean break the string? Like it cuts the string?
I think it’s the strong bead blasting that they put into the bearing seat. Get a sock, and wipe down the bearing seat for like an hour and thirty minutes, and it should be OK.
Alternatively get some heavy duty scotch brite and rub it for a minute or two
