Plays pretty good even with the vibe after cleaning the bearing and melting down the response star! I noticed the bearing had a plastic ring to seat the bearings but acetone didn’t melt it so it’s easy to clean the stock thick grease out. Then instead of dry it turns much better with a tiny drop of VM4 with the plastic seating.
I tried sanding off the response on a one then melting another like in the breaking bad video tribute and the melting plays unresponsive better imho! No sharp edges if melted a bit and rubbed! Ha ha ha… If you don’t have access to a lighter I imagine the stove top would work too? Don’t over-do it as the plastic is soft.
…I don’t personally know the guys in the video, but I usually see them when I am helping set up at the BLC/DXL Contests. And I know the one kid ‘is’ the Videographer. < he has some serious video/camera equipment. So combined with his mad skills, the quality of the video is not a surprise.
The surprise to me is the actual quality of the story combined with the great cam work.
Just got 4 of these little guys and WOW, haha, this is the perfect yoyo for me right now, unmodded. Certainly plays better for me than the $3 Duncan butterflies (which are actually going at my local walmart for $1 incidentally, along with the imperial). I’ll keep 2 for myself, one for modding, and give one to my little sister as a stocking stuffer. I’m having a great time learning the trapeze and the stop-and-go and stuff.
I also picked up one of those Ja-Ru Stunt Wheelie looper yo-yos because according to the package it’s “Great for tricks!”
It fell apart on the 3rd throw :S But it does have grooves running along the inside of so I might fill those with clay to make them heavier and then glue the axle down or something.
My little cousin bought the 2-pack ja-ru light-up yoyo (those things are DUMB light, yo!) for a quick string refill for his Scorpion
But for $1 HPYY (“High Performance Yo-Yo”) has been really fun and totally worth it. The score: HPPY = 1 Ja-Ru = 0 (would be a -3 but you get 3 cotton strings out of it)

Thanks for the welcome. Yeah i guess you could say that im starting out. Bad news the sides keep coming a’loose. Tried some thin thread seal tape. It helped a little.
