Sure, IGRs are good for that also!
To be precise with what I meant, an IGR helps to concentrate the rim weight on the outer rim edge.
The old Peak was exactly what I had in mind for a design with lots of rim weight and an IGR… but of course it’s out of date for modern performance. I, too, was a bit disappointed that the Peak 2 lacked ye olde IGR.
This matches my experience, too. The IGR is cut out of what would be a flat under-rim, which is the most efficiently rim-weighted (yet boring) under-rim design.
