MonkeyFinger Issue

Well, I’ve been throwing my Gelada for a few days now. But, something has got to give. I’ve been through quite a few strings, do to it just sanding away on them around the response. Its broken 3 strings, and all 3 times I’ve luckily been on thick carpet. And the others strings its killed a saw in time to swap a new one over. Is it something to do with the blast, and how its shaped? I adore the return top, and I’d tell anyone to get one. Its just, this problem is getting to turn into an issue.

Did, you use sandpaper? It might have been too rough and might have left a surface just as rough as the blast. I think denim rubdowns are recommended quite often. I had a similar problem with a throw but didnt know about the denim trick at the time and ended up using a very very low grit file. like, weaker than a nail file. Worked for me, try the denim trick first, probably safer to start with that and see if it works. If not, move up to something a little more abrasive.

Will do! Thanks, man!

No problem!

Use denim first, though. Sandpaper does more damage to the anno.

A couple strings later, the wear slowed down more and more. Now it doesn’t do it at all

(Sorry, late reply. Forgot about the thread. Updated in case someone has the same issue)

just a correction, if you use a file, use very very high grit.
grit = number of rocks per square inch. more rocks means smoother surface.
