Might get the yyfriends paragraph

Fingerspins are fine on it but it’s practically a flat hub fingerspin if you don’t have really good technique

Honest answer: Consider the Shortcut.

Paragraph is just kinda fine.

EDIT: If you want something that’s better for fingerspins and I generally consider “better” consider a Summer/Winter Solstice.

That’s oh so true! Very underappreciated throw from a very underappreciated brand, imo.

I saw your timing references, but you dubiously omitted Philips comment that I mentioned. Perhaps in your blind rage you also missed where I said:

So yeah, obviously, it’s a skill thing. If you’ve already got finger spins down, it’s fine. If not, it sucks because the finger spin blemish (can’t hardly call it a dimple since it’s only like 1-2mm deep) has a flat ring around it that’s about 5-7mm thick, and the body isn’t tapered enough to funnel. So land your finger dead center, or know how to move it around to correct. ie. not a beginner finger spin yoyo.

Now do you have anything to say to the other folks on here with a similar assessment?

Why u so fired up lol chill

I can’t believe I actually have to point this out to you but the comment you’re referring to came BEFORE my referenced timestamps where he corrected himself and used the words, and I quote “ACTUALLY, it’s pretty good for fingerspins” …that was his last word on the topic, after doing a few of them.

I’m really sorry you and your kid can’t fingerspin on this yoyo but that’s an obvious skill issue. This may be a hot take but if you can’t fingerspin on something that has even a protruding hub, spike, etc… I don’t think you’re at a skill level where you can hop on the forum and say something is “TERRIBLE” at something you haven’t quite acquired the full skill for yet :man_shrugging:

shortcut was what i actually learned fingerspins on, things with dimples and centering never worked for me idk why

can we keep the arguments to dms please, just trying to clean up the thread

HAHAHAHAHA, dude, you really need to reread what I’ve typed. I can finger spin, and he can finger spin, all day long, on yoyos that aren’t “finger spin ready.” Hell, I can finger spin the Vulture like nothing. The Paragraph just does not lend itself to it. Unless maybe the user has tiny little fingers, or has been finger spinning long enough that they can do it on anything. Philip obviously meets one or both of those traits.

By the way, he obviously said, “Honestly, it’s not the best for finger spins,” for a reason. Maybe he heard from other testers, maybe he tried it earlier with worse results, who knows. But he said it.

Deal, and my apologies. @SR1, if you want to debate feel free to DM me, otherwise  you win.

Just curious, which ones have you tried before?

speedaholic, arcade, horizon, atom smasher, shortcut. i can finger spin on all of them, but the shortcuts blast is amazing for learning and super forgiving

I learned on the shxx and found that cup to work great for learning since i could land it anywhere in the cup and at sharp angles and bump my finger in using a knuckle.

…AND THEN after that he said “Actually it’s pretty good for fingerspins” :skull::skull::skull:

Sorry you’re in denial king, I can’t help you comprehend this any further and we’re going in circles so this is where I get off…

Good luck on the fingerspins ig :+1:

I love the Shooting Star, it’s what I learned to finger spin. The AOE is amazing for it. Like seriously… amaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaazing! The cup is a tiny bit tight, as in diameter, but its shape and depth, along with the funnel of the body, make f’spins automatic.

I agree to an extent. Is it bad at fingerspins? No, but it isn’t great either. The dimple is very shallow and easy to fall out of after locking in. It doesn’t really compare to the current market of fingerspin yoyos. It definitely takes more skill and finesse to lock in and stay locked in.

This is a general statement… but if you can’t fingerspin on something with a dimple or even a flat surface, you haven’t quite fully learned how to fingerspin yet. Paragraph is objectively by far and away on the “easier side of the spectrum” when compared to yoyos with protruding hubs, spikes, etc.

Feels kinda like the idea with the cheatcode but brought to a lower price point at the cost of much worse fingerspins. Kinda wish it didn’t half heartedly do the fingerspin gimmick while still trying to make it competition ready.

IMO if you don’t get locked into a dimple the cup designs tend to fight against you so it makes it much more difficult to have a long spin. That being said anything with a dimple will spin for much longer.

I will admit to sucking at finger spins, but I think I have finally figured out how to lock in pretty consistent with the Paragraph. However it is way easier to FS my Top Deck nothing to lock in and it just goes on the finger nail. So to say something with a spike, nipple or hub is more difficult, I would have to disagree.

100%. I can easily f’spin on the Miracle with its baby spike and the Outlier 3 with the nub in the center.

That said, every human is a little bit different. One person’s finger might be suited to the f’spin blemish on the Paragraph, while others are better for the Shooting Star. My finger tips are sorta wide and flat and don’t fit inside the diameter of the blemish, so that flat ring ends up catching and pushing out to the edge. wobble
