Not really. Hardest part was finding the perfect mix to get it to come out of the air brush right. Used a liquid additive that can be added to powder to use an air brush or gun for application. Needs to dry 100% prior to the cure so it takes a little longer than standard application of the powder.
We will have to talk about the colors. Right now all I have in that realm is the colors from your Vizilla I did and some that are a shade lighter. I do believe there are some a little closer to what youād like but it wonāt be spot on I know that.
Canāt wait to have that Majesty in my hands when itās done! And yes, I am bragging that it is my majesty and it is getting the coolest powdercoat job ever! Thanks mullicabob!
I have some questions about powder coats. How durable are they? Do they rub off? Does anything different happen when you ding one? How much weight do they add? How do they grind? Thanks in advance.
They do not rub off. If you ding one then it gets a ding i dont think there is a diference as for weight i donāt know. The surface of the yoyo gets very smooth so they wonāt grind as well.
Powder is very durable but not bulletproof it will scratch and scuff and may even chip if hit hard enough. Scratches and scuffs can be buffed out if done correctly. Although I havenāt had the chance to do it Iād be willing to bet you I can fix a chip as well.
Due to the smooth texture of powder it does not grind well. It can be bead blasted and lightly sanded to remove the gloss but it still is not like a true blasted texture. Gotta pick your poison I guess.
As far as weight goes itās next to nothing. Maybe a gram? I havenāt weighed one yet but I will on my next personal project I am soon to be working on.
I once sent 2 Max Bets to Bob. One for polish, and one for a polish and powder.
When I got them back, I weighed them. The powder added about half a gram. I couldnāt feel the difference mass-wise during play. So I consider the weight of the powder negligible.
