Making Baz-Pads

#1

I know there’s a way to make them yourself right?

How do you do it?

#2

It’s top-secret.

#3

Super Secret. What are baz pads anyways ???

#4

Response pads. Later were reborn as Chaz Pads.

#5

I just found out how to make them!

#6

It sounds easy but it’s a little more challenging than it seems.

#7

Well then I’ll practice it.

#8

You won’t have a choice.

#9

What do you mean?

I know I’ll be using Hockey tape, but what works better, RTV silicone or Plasti-Dip?

#10

Plasti-Dip works great.

#11

Are these for duncans?

#12

Any yoyo with Pad response.

(2Sick Joey) #13

You can use it for any yoyo if you make the pads in the size for any particular response groove.

#14

The hardest part, for me, was finding a punch that was the proper size. I ended up making a punch out of titanium.

#15

How did you do it?

#16

On a lathe with 3/2.5 Ti bar-stock.

Here it is:

#17

So how do you cut the inner circle of the pad?

#18

I made another smaller punch that slid inside of the larger one so that you can punch both holes at once. That way you don’t have to guess when lining up another hole.

#19

I wish I could make the punches myself but I dont have the necessary things

Are there punches I can buy?

Otherwise I need to find out a different way to cut them

#20

Nah, I have moved twice since I made those and don’t know where they are and I don’t have the lathe anymore…

Maybe you can talk Chuck into selling his punches. On YoYoNation, his screen name is Charleshasyyn. He is the maker of Chaz Pads.
