The yoyo is unresponsive but when ever I give it slack or go to finger grind the strings wraps around the bearing and comes up.

Have you tried new response pads or cleaning the bearing?

have you lubed the bearing, if you have just play it really hard and hopfuly it will thin out if not then put the bearing in lighter fluid and give its 20 minutes then let it air dry.

it cloud also be the pads or the bearing is bad. I have had a lot of yoyos come with bad bearings if so you might just have to replace the bearing

Is it noisy? If it starts getting loud there could be some dirt in the bearing. Also fresh string could help you with the snags.

Where could I get new bearings and response pads?

The bearing probably just needs a good cleaning, the response pads you can buy from amazon, ebay, or any yoyo store, or get flowable silicone from the automotive store and make your own.

It probably needs cleaning. Try acetone:)

Acetone is better. Sometimes lighter fluid has other additives that can leave gunk in the bearing or fail to clean it as well. That said, lighter fluid is better than nothing in a pinch.
