Lubing/cleaning my bearing

I got some silicone in my bearing so I should clean it with some lighter fluid or mineral spirits right? Also, could i use sewing oil as a substitue for thin lube? I don’t have thin lube so if this is an alternative that won’t screw it up that’d be really handy. Advice would be greatly appreciated especially since I’ve never cleaned any of my bearings before.

And in regard to the sewing machine oil I’ve heard some people say it’s good and others say it’s bad so I have no clue at this point.

you could just play them dry. no need for lube really… but yes, sewing machine oil will work. as well as valve oil. These were used before yoyo companies made thin lube.

To clean, you just put the bearing in lighter fluid, mineral spirits, or similar, shake it around for like 5 minutes, then take it out and spin it dry.
