Sturm Panzer’s design philosophy for Size D bearing yo-yos has always leaned on one core idea: less weight is usually the answer. Light Chaser Ver.1.5, labeled SS-004 for its 2025 release, puts that theory into practice, shedding roughly 2.5g from the previous version and shifting what remains toward the outer rim in diameter and the inner side in width.
This version wasn’t built chasing a specific feel so much as a target: the sweet spot for monometal Size D bearing machines, tuned for EDC(everyday carry), the kind of yo-yo you’d actually want to carry and throw casually every day. That weight redistribution makes speed more accessible for players at any level, and it’s paired with a reworked cap design, swapping the old two-layer inner/outer setup for a single donut-shaped weight ring that lightens up the center. Since the axle hole runs all the way through, Light Chaser still pairs with Sturm Panzer’s traditional potting caps to finish it off.
Finger spin players aren’t left out either. Included 3D-printed hop caps snap onto the sides with no tools required, pulled off and reattached by hand whenever you want to switch between finger spin compatible and non-compatible setups. The designer’s philosophy here is simple: having that choice is what makes it wonderful. Light, fast, and built for whichever way you want to play, Light Chaser Ver.1.5 is ready whenever you are.
