I mean I have a few different bimetal or hybrid organics but that’s unfair to compare against a mono. I would argue the FD fluke has more weight in the rims. It’s essentially what I want the operator to play like when u want more wraps as the fluke had a way more forgiving and open gap but those two are very similar shaped YoYo’s.
I’ll note nothing else in my collection is exactly like the butterball. It’s super fun the way it is and more (power) doesn’t mean better.
i like both the butterball and noma but have found myself reaching for the butterball more often.
noma is light and zippy but is unforgiving. i can be quite sloppy and end up losing spin before i can finish the trick. prob skill issue. i like brass ultralights on it but switched back to the og
butterball feels very stable and a bit more weighty. it definitely reminds me a lot of the grail but smaller and stretched out a wee bit. it’s unique compared to other organics because the rims dip down a bit, giving an even comfier feeling
in general i really like the finish on atmos yoyos, specifically their organics and how the shadows are accentuated
I have tried the Bathysphere, however, when I did it was up against a bunch of heavy hitters. It felt a little bland compared to the Oasis I tried right before it. That said, I only tried it for maybe a minute. People love them, maybe I should give it another chance.
My favorite organic was the Damian Puckett Duali Ti…. It checked all the boxes for me until…… I got my Atmos Butterball in bubblegum & clear! Holy cow I’m so impressed I bought 2!! It’s the best organic to date! It surpasses Beater, grail, DP duality, 000, and others!!
If you’re an organic lover butterball will be good, however the Noma is so so so much better. I do like their stormberry, though. I like the grail or life for organics, and basically any one drop organic.
FWIW. Both are excellent choices but play is very different. If you like a smaller, zippier session then Noma is the go to! If it’s a slower, chill session that you want to ramp up, butterball is like no other. They are in fact a nice pairing to fill the day. You’ll want both.
Lastly, if you need something right in the middle, you’ll want to try Pomodoro! Long live atmos.
Not yet! I keep teetering. It’s in the cart, it’s out of the cart, it’s back in the cart. Organics can be so hit or miss for me… but when they are right, they are the chefs kiss. My worry now is if the Butterball is too large. It can be difficult tell from photos. For context, the Beater is a good size I’d say.
Side-by-side it’s visibly wider than the Beater, but the way the profile slopes in slightly towards the rim may make it seem smaller than its measurements in some ways.
The Butterball is balanced. Not too floaty not too agile not too fast, but all together it plays the most balanced out of all the organics I’ve played, including but not limited to, beater, bathysphere, Al6 grail, G2 life, afterlife, show pony, creep and joyride. At the end of the day it’s subjective and if you like organics you’ll like the Butterball. If organics aren’t your thing, plenty of options to fit individual play styles.
