As many of you know, I’m not a fan of laser engravings; however, I love them if they are done in a specific way. A yo-yo I’m working on right now has laser engravings. What is the process for having them done? Are they dimensions in a specific software? Or do you simply give the design you want and say where it’s placed to the manufacturer?

Im no expert, nor do i know much of the process besides some yyf livestreams/videos, but as longbas they dont impede play and being common area where your finger is, they are fine. Swear many a have a chalky feeling that makes my hair stand up, like rubbing a cold piece of very smooth paper with smooth hands.

It’s not play I’m worried about, it’s the look

I had mine designed in adobe illustrator. When I send a design to a machine shop I tell them where to place it and the approximate size of the engraving in mm, including a render to show the placement and size.
