So I just did a yoyo demonstration for a camp this afternoon. I ended up doing three rotations, which was kind of nice. I can’t imagine trying to maintain 50+ kids’ attention at once. I did a full routine to a song, showed some of the other styles, and taught them tricks on cheap yoyos (that the camp staff had bought). For my first professional yoyo gig, it went pretty good!
That’s fantastic Alexander. What was the age range of the kids?
That’s awesome bro! I’m done some kids demos, they’re always a blast
I think they said 3 through 5 grade. So 9-11?
Yeah definitely different than yoyoing for a contest. You really have to pick the stuff that is more suited to a casual audience. More flashy less techy. Even just a little bit of 5A 4A and 2A helps immensely in this regard. In my experience even the most basic 4A and 5A blows people’s minds.
cough OH WOW IT WAS SPINNING IN THE AIR WOOOAHHH
Thats pretty cool dude good job
Yeah that’s essentially the reaction. All the adults in crowds I’ve ever performed for are just amazed at 4A. Or do some tricks and your back for the same reaction.
