I don’t think that I have the skill or accuracy enough to do this, but i may ask someone I know.
Nothing wrong with giving it a shot. If you pull it off I’d buy one off you. Seems like they’d be pretty inexpensive to make once you got it down.

Yeah, you wouldn’t want to ding it. It cracks easily and very sharply.
I’ve seen obsidian shards, if you dinged an obsidian yoyo, you would make a razor sharp, hand decapitating, wheel of death…

yeah, actually it is a property of obsidian. When broken, the shards actually almost reach a MOLECULAR sharpness. scary stuff.

Life threatening Obsidian yoyo? I would seriously take 3 of those. Its freakin Volcanic Glass yo. You could name the yoyo The Volcano!..Or better yet “The Infinity” because of the way you can stare deep into obsidian almost endlessly like into the ocean or into space.

and here I am trying to find a modern example of them 
I seriously believe that someone with sufficient means and capabilities should try to create stone or mineral yo-yos.
It would be very interesting and a great collection piece.
