Trust me, I think they should just ship 'em but I’m not the boss I’m also not there first hand to see how hard they are to make and assemble but as a player I think they are above the line for selling as A grades
edit: it’s hard to justify moving a product into production when there are issues you feel you can’t reasonably control AND can’t risk recurring in large numbers; it is genuinely a risk for them to starting making these in high #'s knowing there is/are variables they haven’t solved.

ITT: insiders/ die hards teasing the general masses about one’s drops mythic bimetal
I think those that aren’t on the team or fortunate enough to swing by the factory can feel a little frustrated by amost 15 years of speculation and rumors. Many other bimetals have been cooked up and released within that timeframe. From what I’ve gathered, this has been handled with a lot of “soon” over the years.

Just for clarity sake, Yoyo Wizardry released in 2015 and we had JUST gotten the bimetal protos for the first time the day before filming. Not sure where 15 years came from. Additional context I’m happy to provide with my newly discovered ‘insider’ status:
Blue inner ring bimetal was scrapped due to how easily the rings popped out if the yoyo was dinged. Additionally the axle had to be 4mm due to how thin the cup was and those would sometimes break as well (as mine did, it is now perma pulse vibey)
The more modern outer ring design is them revisiting the idea of making a bimetal, not the result of r & d from the moment they scrapped the blue one up till now. Protos of the new bimetal were fresh off the press right before PNWR last year (March). So to clarify, we got a scrapped proto in 2015, and a new proto late 2024/early 2025.

I’m not teasing anyone, just rehashing old teasers. I’ve never gotten to play with one of these and probably never will, let alone own one. 
This bimetal has 11 years of prototypes to pay off, I feel like it’s no closer to coming out today than it was back in 2015.

The current bimetals are a lot more functional than the original design if you think you will ever ding it

I say almost 15 because of the first post in this thread, they say in 2021 it was leaked 7 years prior. 2021-7=2,014 so it was leaked in 2014 yeah? 2026-2014=12
So okay more than 10 years ago, not almost 15 tho.

First I found out about it was early 2015, guess I’m not as privileged of an insider as I thought. In all seriousness, we all want these things to come out but the guys currently feel the risk of getting burned pushing them into production is too high 
they’ve also been pretty busy making Summit 2’s, Legacy Peaks, Ultra States, Crucibles, Deepest States, Edition, (+SEs for all throws using them) and stuff for other customers. I am hopeful they will release this year personally.

I was pleasantly surprised to see a design that I haven’t seen before in the photo that you shared. The one on the right-hand side. Is that the latest one or is it earlier than the one with the wiggly/ribbed outer cups?

It would be great if OneDrop provided actual information on their promised bi-metal throw instead of tiresome photo teases on social media. But, at this point, who really cares if they make a bi-metal? What can OneDrop do to differentiate their new offerings from the many already out there? They might as well keep cranking out the mono-metals and SE’s that their followers seem to love.

onedrop can simply machine them because the machining quality + pyramatte is still a unique experience (hence yyr keeps getting them to machine copies of their yoyos)
