Forget it, I can’t get it drunk or sober.
Great album though. Just skip over Girl From the North Country.

  • Respectfully: No.
  • If you listen to the album, while ignoring, that it is Bob Dylan, then you know what I mean.

Fortunately I have no idea what you mean.

What’s wrong with ā€œGirl From the North Country?ā€ Forgive me if I’m missing something obvious here…

all good. just my opinion. :slightly_smiling_face:

To me the whole album sounds a bit generic. But that can also be my 2025 hindsight. Of course how we look at art changes through time and to me this album sounds like Muzak-Americana-Tunes. :man_shrugging:

Or what does it sound like to you peeps? Why do like it so much?

I guess you had to be there to get it.

I understand his contribution to music, but I wasn’t there. There are also dudes my age who worship him.

My dad is a big Grateful Dead fan, did the tour following and everything, so I have a deeper connection with them when it comes to that era, and it has influenced my more modern tastes as well, I think.

Dylan honestly never really did it for me.

Connected with his early (1962-1966) stuff. After about 1967, I lost interest.

I love early Bob Dylan, when his songs were feeling deep, honest and maybe even prophetical.
To me Nv.Skyl. just feels cheap and uninspired in comparison.

But then again: ā€œComparison is the thief of joyā€.

I’ve made some sort of effort to listen to Bob Dylan, and I really like his music, most especially his older stuff (early - mid 60’s) it’s unlike anything else I’ve heard, and in a good way.

Apologies for the intrusion… young guy, headin’ out.

One of the only things I’ve liked Dylan in was the Traveling Wilburys

I’m a massive Bob fan. I love how he’s gone through 3 or four different genres and there’s something for everybody. His 60s stuff will always be king for me, especially the 65/66 trilogy, but Infidels and Oh Mercy have some great songs i enjoy. Even his 90s and early 00s stuff is excellent for a good chill night.

No intrusion, mans made his mark some time ago. His early stuff for sure what cemented his legacy. If you into film check out I’m Not There; I find it best portrays his different ā€˜sides’ and certainly colors his eras in a way that boosts the enjoyability, at least from my perspective.
