Is D7 enough to replace canvas?

I already have D7, and I’m always looking for canvas.
I know they have different size and weight(D7 is even lighter than canvas),
but thanks to similar appearance, I expect that they have similar feelings.
I wonder if they have similar feelings and if D7 can replace canvas.

They play pretty noticeably different to me, the OG Diptych (and the Canvas even more so) being slower paced with more power.

I agree with @Isaac the D7 plays faster and lighter with more agility then its predecessors. However, this is a common design narrative when a legacy model is typically redone in 7075. I know there are purest out there, but you usually don’t hear yoyo designers touting how their newest model plays slow and heavy. Maybe we will come full circle in the future, but A-RT designs historically have focused on the the Light and Floaty spectrums of play.

But to answer the OP question does it replace? There are a lot of people looking for Canvases and that’s why they are priced as such. So for now the Canvas is more coveted and the D7 is not a true replacement in the the eyes of the beholders, and now current and future collectors will want both due to their differences and similarities increasing the demand.
