Hello Reed. I made a song to express a welcome for you:

Welcome one, welcome all, come to YYE, weā€™ll have a ball. Its really fun, and quite awesome, you will find Samad is not a possum.

Yeahā€¦ Welcome.

:stuck_out_tongue:

Insert random joke about ninja possums.

Ninja skills?

LOL!

Hello,

I had a yoyo from the time it was a trend here in Europe. the stupid kind of yoyo that lights up when itā€™s spinning. But if you hit the ground or wall once, it was broken. I learned myself a few tricks with that kind of yoyo.
Years later, I started juggling and then I found out yoyo is still popular among jugglers. Because I liked it when I was a kid, and itā€™s something you donā€™t see here, I wanted to learn it.
So I bought a Duncan dragonfly and learned some tricks.
I donā€™t practice that often so I learn it very slow. The tricks I can do are beginner/advanced. Not that spectacular if you look at tricks on youtube. But itā€™s impressive for the people here who are already surprised by the fact that the yoyo can spin in ā€˜sleep modeā€™.

My yoyo starts to feel the effect of practice. Iā€™m also out of strings. So i want to buy a new yoyo, to learn advanced/expert tricks, a bulk of strings, and maybe 2 looping yoyoā€™s too, to start learning looping.
But Iā€™m a little bit lost in the expert part. And I donā€™t know how to take care of a yoyo. So I joined the forum to find some help in this.

Hi and welcome! great to see some more Euro-power here. I answered in another threadā€¦ so go read that

thanks.
I can do beginner and most of intermediate tricks now.
I have no strings anymore, so I have to buy them if I want to practice more.
But if Iā€™m going to order strings, I can order a new yoyo too (transport cost).

What yoyo should I order? because there are so many choices. Iā€™m looking for a price vs quality choice now. Is dragonfly still OK? or is there a better choice?

Iā€™m also thinking of buying yoyoā€™s for looping tricks. But I want to hear the opinion of others to know when I best start looping. Do I need to reach a decent level of tricks before I start looping?

You can order a whole variety of yoyos. But seeing that you can do most of the intermediate tricks, you should jump to a metal rimmed yoyo. These include the Speeder, Dark Magic, Hitman, X-ConVict, Atmosphere and a lot of others. Or, you can get a Grind Machine or Legacy. Works just as well, and is very cost effective. Just pick one from the store

Also, looping and string tricks are completely different skills, you can start whenever you want

Yeah, you should do looping first. It can give you a callous on your finger quicker, helping you to cushion the pain.

Hi, all! Iā€™m Qymana. Yes. That is my actual name. Most of my buds just call me Qymbo of Qym (pronounced ā€œKimā€ fyi, and yes I am a girl). Yep. Iā€™ve been yoyoing on and off for a while, never getting much past Brain Twister before I put down the yoyo. I really like to obsessā€¦ I meanā€¦practice yoyoing so my strings always go in a few weeks (if Iā€™m lucky.) I just ordered a few new yoyos (plural so I can practice looping and string tricks) and a bundle of string (the perks of now being 18. My own Netspend card and no parental input on what I get to buy), and Iā€™ve been dieing waiting for them to come. So much so that I went to Walgreenā€™s and bought a Duncan Imperial just to ā€œget my fixā€ until my new yoyos arrive.
Iā€™m a Duncan Junkie but that all spawns from sibling rivalry that stuck from childhood. My brother was all Yomega and so it was Duncan for me. Thatā€™s all changing, though.

welcome kim glad see more girls in the yoyo community

Glad to be in the yoyo community. High five

Hi my name is kelsey. Yes it does sound like a girls name but iā€™m a boy. i have a passion for yo-yoing since the age of 11. i found yo-yoing harder to learn as i am a lefty(Left hander). so my dominante hand is my left. so basically all the tricks i learn i have to relook at the videos and try to think the opposite cause most videos are righty(Right handed). My favourite yoyoā€™s are DarkMagic, Sunset Trajectory, speeder& The Super Star ā€œJohn Ando Splash Editionā€. Is there any websites that show yo-yoing tutorials with leftyā€™s?

Hi thereā€¦ Umm Im not sure about tuts for leftys but check out Ibanezcollectors videos.

He has some trick break downs and lots of great videos with tons of slomo footageā€¦ And heā€™s a lefty

My name is michael, i live in Indonesia
My english is not so goodā€¦ My favourite yoyo is new breedā€¦
I have a new breed and i really love itā€¦
