Introduce Yourself!

Name is Berto.

Been into yo-yo’s since the late 80s but never serious, just enough to impress 95% of people I meet.

Seem to pick up yo-yo’s when I find something I like locally… in 2003 I got a little more into it by trying 5A but not really good at it, still a 1A guy.

Consider myself one step above a noob and 25 years later, I still like walk the dog and the triangle swing, (my 3 year old loves them both).

Just picked up a Duncan Echo 2 and getting into the non-responsive units, pretty sweet.

Looking forward to learning more from you fellas.

/wave/ Hi everyone,
Used to be super into yoyos a few years back, dropped it then got right back into it a while ago! Found my old case, the few crappy throws I kept and went from there. Right now I’m going back and forth between my Burnside and Omnicron X, and sometimes a Supernova. Fave trick is probably Kwijibo, super smooth have it down 100% but earlier today I discovered G Squared and CLYW’s Cabin tutorials so that will probably change very quickly. Hope to see you all around in the forums!

I was part of the yoyo resurgence in the late '90s early '00s. Throughout the years since I would pick up one of my yoyos and do some tricks but didn’t keep up with the scene. Then I randomly found the kickstarter for the Civility yoyo from Adam and bought one. This was my first intro to unresponsive yoyos. Since I got my Civility in Feburary 2014 I have been watching a ton of videos and reading up on everything I missed from the past 12ish years.

Im glad to be back but I don’t think my wallet is ready :frowning:

Hi my name is Josh. And i started to get into yoyoing because it really fun a interesting. When i was younger yoyos were my favorite but never went hard into it, but now i want to learn all these cool tricks :D. My first yoyo that i bought was the yoyoking merlyn and my second one that i use now is the yoyofactory shutter. and i just ordered a new one the CLYW bonfire fire blizzard. by far the most amazing looking one ever haha

Hi all,
My name is Lez. I’m 39 and live in a small town in the UK. I’m a primary school teacher and love my job.i enjoy rock climbing and hiking. I first picked up a Yoyo when I was 14. It was a Russell Spinner that I was lucky to win from a can of Coke. I played with the Yoyo for a couple of years and mastered all the basic tricks such as Walk the Dog, Rock the Baby, Elevator, UFO and a few others. I lost my Yoyo and unfortunately never replaced it until quite recently. A student at out school had a Yoyo in the playground, although it was great to see, it wasn’t a spinner. His Yoyo just went up and down. I had a chat with the student and explained that I could make his Yoyo do tricks by just changing his string. He agreed to let me so this. He was then quite impressed that his Yoyo could do more than go up and down. This inspired me to buy a new Yoyo. I bought a “Duncan Metal Zero”. I enjoyed this for a short while and realised that I could still do all the basic tricks I had learned when I was much younger. I then began watching truck clips on You Tube, which is where I stumbled across “Yoyoexpert” Andre Bouley had really inspired me and still does. I have watched all the trick clips and i can now do many more, although I’m no great expert. I decided to have a Yoyo Club at the school where I teach. I have used school funds and bought many “yoyojam Classics” for the children to begin with. Im having much fun teaching the children what i know and showing them the cool trick clips of Andre Bouley. They are also inspired. Who knows…one of the children my develop into a master…wouldn’t that be cool. I
have also come to realise that to progress with my tricks, I could do with a new Yoyo. I now have “Dark Magic 2” with a non responsive “Koncave Bearing” I’m currently working on tricks in the advanced stage but I’m getting better each week. I take my Yoyo everywhere with me…to work, shopping, hiking and climbing…Everywhere. I’m never without it. I would love some tips and pointers of how much time others practice for. Anyway… That’s me.
Hope to meet other like minded people

What up you guys,my name is Chris and I am from the u.s.i started yoyoing when I saw some yoyos at toys r us and that is when I bought myself a yoyo velocity.i started learning the basic and intermediate trick and that is when I got into yoyoing and I really like this sport so I started to practice and to practice and I am still practicing.my throw right now is the yyf shutter.i am still learning my advance tricks.my favorite players are ann Connolly, gentry stein and of course Andre boulay. Where I live I don’t really see people playing with yoyos so it not that popular here where I live.(if you live in Hawthorne or Lennox message me we can meet up and get to know eachother)By the way I am 16 years old I am a junior.yoyo is my passion and that all I got to say.

Welcome Lez! My yoyo is never far, either. I’ve never taken a proper inventory of how much I play since it’s just “whenever my hands aren’t occupied with something else”. But it’s probably a hour cobbled together from 2- and 5-minute spurts during the day, and then another hour in the evening. I don’t call it practice, though. I call it “goofing off”.

Chris, it’s my passion, too! Welcome to the boards.

What’s up guys! I’m Grayson. I’m 16, and I’m sort of re-entering the wonderful world of yo-yo’s. Yo-yo’s were my favorite back in elementary school, and when i was about 10-11ish I bought a One Drop M1. I totally forgot about it until about a month ago when I found it deep in the depths of my closet. This discovery re-sparked my love of yo-yo’s, and has brought me here. I guess that’s about it.

I’ve got a friend named Grayson whose 16… Weird. Haha…

Anyway, welcome to the forums!

Hello my name is Westley and I have been yoyoing for 9 years and stick to 1A for the most part, My current setup is a Yoyofactory DV888. I am 24 and reside in Montgomery, Alabama and some of my favorite tricks for the moment have included Whim and arm grind binds. Trying to come up.

My name is Clarence and I’m 12. I’ve been yoyoing for about 2 years, and I say I’d say I’m pretty decent. So far I’ve been playing 1a ,4a ,and 5a(hoping to try other styles.) So that’s it. You are all wonderful beautiful people.

Welcome to the forums

Hi all,

I’ve been a lurker here for awhile now and thought it was about time that I started participating. My name is Dan, I’m 28 years old and I’m from London, Ontario, Canada. I’ve been throwing for a couple of years, but not particularly seriously - I’m interested in getting better though and I’ve been throwing more recently, which is another reason I’m here.

I mainly play 1a, but I have throws for all of the 5 styles. I’m also looking to meet some other throwers in my city, so hopefully I come across some here. Looking forward to my time here!

Is it only you and me or is the MYY N6 AWESOME? It is so good I love it.

Anyways welcome to the forums!

Hey Dan! There’s a Toronto group, but I don’t know about London. There’s definitely nothing here in Ottawa. Welcome to the forums!

Thanks for the info! If I’m in the Toronto area I’ll be sure to look them up!

Thanks! Yeah the N6 is a surprisingly solid throw, especially for the price. Not my favorite that I own, but it’s in the top 3 for sure.

Hello

My name is Keith, I had a yoyo as a kid (Yomega brain) learned the sleeper, around the world, walk the dog, and shoot the moon.

Got a turbo bumble bee in high school, learned stop and go, brain twister, rock the baby, and split the atom.

Out of nostalgic curiosity picked up a Yomega mods advanced I found for sale somewhere for $10 and now I’m hooked again. Picked up a couple unresponsive throws and bearings and random eBay deals (thought I scored a deal on a magic yoyo desperado only to find out they are cheap new, totally worth it though much better then my YYF protostar) I have managed to learn almost everything on the learning page up to advanced with the exception of iron whip and leg wrap…

That’s about it. I am restless by nature so it’s cool to have something to keep me busy when everyone else is watching TV.
