I’m 18 year old and i’ve already had quite a few different hobbies before i started yoyoing. I went from juggling with Diabolo to juggling balls, rings and clubs. For about 3 years i’ve had those hobbies, but then, a half year ago i saw this video on www.youtube.com, it was a guy named John Chow that had made his own yoyo video “My favourite tricks atm”. I was amazed how the yoyo had developed from when i was younger, so i thought i’d try this out.
After buying a YYJ Dark Magic i have been watching André Boulay on the “Learn” section from www.yoyoexpert.com. After a while i started looking for some all-metal yoyos and found the Hspin Good&Evil 4 (Black Lily) and ordered it. I have had it for around 3 months and it’s still in pretty good shape. Anyways… So last week i ordered 2 new yoyos, YYF Dv888 (red) and OneDrop MarkMont Next, and i’m very exited to try them out.

I got into juggling because I needed a “show off hobby”. I have plenty of hobbies but they are all self fulfilling and there is no public view into them, atleast in a way most people would understand.
I had seen a couple of videos and thought it was cool, but it was the Video with Joe and Ann that really made me want to yoyo, they just brought life to it and were having fun.
Anywho, I look forward to getting better and starting to enter the grind of trying to land many tricks, and hopefully eventually compete.

hello everyone! I’m john, im from Hawaii! but currently living in Cali, but im in the US Navy and in Afghanistan atm.
I was told about this site from someone on YYN and just started getting back into my old hobbie/talent from back in my elementary days… im now 19 years old and started throwing again about 2 weeks ago. i was always off and on because i never wanted to forget how to play, but now im serious and hoping to get good enough to compete some day in the near future… just got my first metal yoyo the YYF purple/gold splash skyline and LOVE IT! but i gotta downgrade to a less expensive beater XD so i just got my Y-Factor that’s stacked in the mail back home and am getting it sent out here soon! cant wait my favorite trick atm would be a trick from Alexis JV trick vid frost fire it looks like a Houdini mount into a fake pop to a pop to a houdini mount double or nothing XD My favorite yoyoer’s would have to be yuuki and Alexis both inspirations. hopefully one day i can throw with Yuuki because ive actually met him in person back home but never got the chance to learn from him well that’s about it. HEY THERE!! my name is Rashad, call me shad for short, I live in Des Moines, Iowa and I’m a student at DMACC (its a community college haha) i have only been throwing for about 3 months now, but i feel ive been accomplishing a lot, and i know there is much more for me to learn
I heard about this site (along with others) from Adam Brewster, so i checked them out and i have met awesome people and learned a lot. So i cant wait to dive in here and see what i can learn and who ill meet so now a little more about me.
i am 19, i used to yoyo when i was little but i stopped when i was about 9. my grandmother (who i lost in January) is basically who i have to thank for me getting into this, i was in a bit of a dark place and she urged me to get a hobby,so i did and since it has become much more than a hobby. I work in a toy store in the mall and that’s where i bought my first yoyo’s. i had been working on tricks for about a month and a half when someone walked in with a yoyo and blew my mind! i decided to strike up a conversation with this gentleman, and found out quickly his yoyo was a CLYW Avalanche, and his name was Adam Brewster. Then by complete accident i found out that he is actually pretty well known in the yoyo community haha. Since that day he has become one of my yoyo idols.
Currently the yoyo’s in my arsenal are my Duncan FHZ and my FHZ metal, my YYJ Black Knight and my newest addition… a YYF Protostar!! and the list of tricks im working on is too long for me to list haha, lets just say im working on anything and everything i can.

Hey everyone, my name is Sam and I just started yoyoing again! I tried to learn when I was maybe 10 or 11 (back when the Matrix was the hot new yoyo) but I was never very good, so I got fed up and stopped. I’m 18 now and about a week ago I found an A2Z gift card in my wallet for $25. I went to the store and picked out a YoYoFactory Velocity as my new yoyo. I hope to get a Dv888 once I get payed (hopefully this week). I’ve worked my way up to the intermediate level tricks using the videos on this site, and I’m really happy with my progress so far.
