This thing might be the equivalent of that three-wheeled British car they make fun of on Top Gear
I feel like One Drop would be the Volkswagen Group.
Volkswagen Group sells passenger cars under the Audi, Bentley, Bugatti, Lamborghini, Porsche, SEAT, Ĺ koda and the flagship Volkswagen marques; motorcycles under the Ducati brand; and TRATON (commercial vehicles, trucks, and buses) under the marques MAN, Scania, and Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles.
I was just looking at this the other day wondering why there arenât more Carbon Fiber YoYos.
I donât think you can really compare them like this because the quality of new yoyos on the market today is very similar from all brands. Based on hHype, however, G2 is Rolls Royce, YYR is Ferrari, YYF is Toyota, and C3 is Honda (based on the fact that everyone has these and people know that theyâre reliable). Also OD would be Mercedes, Duncan would be an American brand like Ford or Chevrolet.
TBH this model doesnât work (because itâs not based on the quality of yoyos produced) but thatâs what I think based on the way people talk about these throws.
Yeah well we are talking about the general perception of the yo-yo companies just as we are talking about the general perception of the car companies. I mean, Honda does all kinds of stuff that most people donât think about, they make lawnmowers for goodness sake.
Anyway, I actually like your comparisons. What would you say sOMEThING is?
Iâd say theyâd be similar to YYR, a high tier sports car manufacturer. I donât really know how popular sOMETHING is but I think theyâre more popular in Japan.
My image of them is like a more laid-back YYR, still very high end but not geared so much for competition
sOMETHING would an Infinity the upscaled Nissan. YYR would be a Lexus.
YYF - Toyota
Duncan - Ford
C3 - Honda
YYR - Lamborghini
TP - Ferrari
OD - Lexus
G2 - Porsche
Luftverk - Rolls Royce
YYFriends - Volkswagen
UNPRLD - Mclaren
Sengoku - Tesla
Something - Maserati
YYF lol
Those all make sense except Yoyofriends being VolkswagenâŚ
One Drop is the BMW of yoyos. Great engineering + excellent fit and finish. Performance and style for days, but not the first pick for exotic performance enthusiasts.
Oxy = some Italian sports car
I vaguely remember that Oxygene yoyos were machined in Carloâs fatherâs machine shop which normally made parts for fancy sports cars.
ButâŚI could be making some/all of that up.
That sounds correct. I think it was Lamborghini but I might be mixing that up with my professor from around the same time who also worked with them.
In this thread I do back the YoYoFactory:Toyota comparison. Both have wide product ranges, both well regarded but maybe not the most âexcitingâ, both do a lot of projects with newer technologies.
let me play as subaru
@sfyoyos Iâd say you are dodge
And you are a velocipede?
Iâd prefer DMC
SF=Subaru&Friends
