Perfect, thanks so much
What about response pads? Looks like pads are out of stock on their website. I want to try my hand at designing and 3D printing a No-Jive inspired throw with the bearing/response combo found in the Plasm.
Last I checked, think yotricks has pads that work with them. Their Origen has all the same parts as the RBC.
All of the places I know to look are out of stock.
But, I’d suggest looking into flowable silicone either way. It’s vastly cheaper for a bunch of 3D printed prototypes, and you can make the groove any size you want.
Awesome! I actually have an Origen and up until I got the Plasm and Weekender over the past couple weeks it was my go to. Still like it but I know wish it was a bit lighter and more narrow but not my much.
You know that’s a fair point. I’ve never done flowable. Any suggestions? Can I just use silicone from the hardware store?
I’ve been using Permatex 81730 (flowable windshield and glass seal). I use a small syringe to apply it, scrape the excess off with a business card, allow to cure for 24h, then rub off any residue outside of the groove with a finger. I found a tutorial here on the forums and an old Instructables by Doc Pop that I used as guides to get started.
Flying Lemon is coming soon, YYE might have replacement pads when they arrive
@aorear85 Ultra Grey has a very strong following and suggestion rate. A lot can be learned in this thread.
You can use that if you are good at smoothing out the silicone. I use flowable cause it works great and easy to apply
I think this was the thread where we discussed it but I ordered 24 4mm wide MR85s for about $3.13 a piece. Now I get to wait and see if tariffs bite me.
Thank you for taking the plunge. How many did you end up ordering?
24 of them.
The Plasm (and RBC before it), has the most satisfying response I have ever experienced from a yoyo. The combo of pads, gap width/design, and MR85, is amazing
I would love to have an Iron Man Deep State. All I need is a gold Deep State.
Agreed. Forgot to thank @Captrogers for the denim idea, helped alot to smooth out the bearing seat. I cleaned out all the extra debris and swapped the bearing. Now she purrs… no more string cutting.
Loving this throw. Great job guys @Glenacius_K @MarkD
Day 1 with the Plasms and I’m stoked. So far they can handle everything I can throw at them, including me butchering this Kyle Nations combo
I can’t get over how fun and satisfying this thing is to play.
Perfection on a string, and I’m not really even a responsive/ 0a wonk.
It’s just so good
