HSPIN releases and activity in 2010 - part 1 of 2

January is soon over. We have been very busy to get ready for EYYC 2010 (to which we are one of three main sponsors!!) and to get a few other projects off the ground. I want to make sure it’s not February for our 2010 update.

Let’s start with the brand new stuff, the Gorylla 411… is a piece of precision and collaboration inside the NETWORK. The first prototypes were shown around during Worlds 2008 in three ball bearing configurations. Gaberus was one of the loudest proponents of this yoyo and demanded it to be released with a 4mm gap. We gave it our brand new Axle&Response system 2.0 (plastic-steel hybrid low friction bearing, 4mm gap, slim stickers, siliconable recess) and adjusted weight slightly.

Here it is: Gorylla 411.
Weight ~66g
Width 40.5mm
Diameter 52mm
Inertia: Rim-weighted

While The Gorylla is on par with the NVx in terms of quality, playability and precision (and cost), we will released it during EYYC 2010 in Prague for a much reduced price below USD 100 giving back to the community. (if you’re a retailer: you’ll benefit from this too, just give us a day or two

Now… here it is. The biggest update yet. HSPIN has developed and teamed up with another manufacturer outside Switzerland to bring to you very affordable good quality yoyos. We refer to these yoyos as the “Core Series” yoyos. The BeySick is one of the current favorites of the our players since our meeting in London in November 2009.

Brace yourself: This top player will be available for USD 59, and will also be released during EYYC 2010 in Prague.

Weight:~ 65g
Diameter 52mm
Width 41.5mm
Inertia: Rim-weighted

Magl33to expressed interest in summer 2009 to make a signature yoyo. I was pleased to hear this and while he was still making up his mind regarding shape and specs, I showed him a non-metal prototype which he fell in love with. He wanted a similar shape, but in aluminum. So we met once more at my place, made some rough sketches, I had them translated to proper CAD drawings and we started prototyping.

Magl33to has tested the “ICON” extensively over Xmas and New Year and is very happy with it. Design work is in progress. Expect this one in April/May this year, will be a Core Series yoyo and be available for USD 79.

Weight ~65g
Width 40mm
Diameter 54mm
Inertia: Semi rim weighted

Also, there are two great yoyos, which are assembled and packaged as of now, even though they appeared already on our page in December 2009. This is the Yellow H2O - the second release of 99 pieces of our fine titanium/anodized aluminum yoyo jointly produced with our Italian colleague Carlo from Oxygene. And also, the purple CUT - a new yoyo for our V-shape down-to-Earth performance tool.

Feedback has been amazing, which is why the stock of our limited edition team release CUT yoyos is running out soonish. Grab one of the last ones if you want to support one of our guys, each of these was designed with tons of HEART.

Ok… now I need to take a break and work on other stuff. There is more to come, but I let you digest this first.

Hope you’re all well, have a great continued 2010,

ChrisK
