Tips here too, but may be a lower signal to noise ratio for what you’re looking for.

For me, I am planning to make a wooden fixie this year. My general plan of attack:
- Plane board to height.
- Use a hole saw with a pilot bit to cut puck and axle hole. Pilot bit may need to go first then be removed.
- Use drill press (because it’s what I have. Lathe is better) to put curve on halves. This will mostly be sandpaper for me, but lathe with bits is faster.
- Cut axle to length.
- Glue in clamps with spacer to set gap.

I know Ed Davidson of Davidson Lathe Craft @DLC has videos on YouTube showing the entire process. I believe Dazzlin’ Dave does as well.

Still need to make that wood choice tutorial post.

That would be very helpful. This is one area I feel entirely out of my depth.

Well, you can mostly just pick wood and see how it turns out.

What? You didnt like my tutorial post?
I put a lot of thought into that.
I’ve just gone into the workshop and taken photos of wood. I’m going to make the tutorial post later today.
