The amount of money it is the brand who makes it that’s how you find good yoyo
Or one that you just like
Not always brand. I don’t like yyr, plus it is super expensive so I would waste 200$ on one. But I do like OneDrop and Duncan.
get the one you like and if it fits in your budget. I usually check reviews.
Cost and brand are immaterial.
If you’re new to yoyos there are a few inexpensive yoyos folks tend to recommend. I think the Lyn Fury, Kickside, or Legacy II with some THICK lube is a good place to start. If you’ve been yoyoing a while and need a recommendation, you can post a thread that includes a list of what you have and your preferences - that will help people make a recommendation suited to you.
The truth is that - if you can bind - there’s a lot of great yoyos out there. Unless you’ve done a search and found that a lot of folks think a yoyo is a dud, it’s often you’re best bet to just go with the one that you think looks the coolest.
You can’t always judge by price. I just got a RecRev Oscillatrix, and that thing costs about $63 dollars or so, and it plays better than $100+ yoyo’s I have. You can’t always judge a yoyo by it’s price. Same thing goes with the PSG’s, they’re $16 bucks, but I heard those things play amazingly.
It’s simple and difficult.
Al that matters is if you like it or not. Price, while important, is irrelevant in regards to the price. I mean, you have to have the money or suitable items to trade to obtain the object you are after, but all that really matters in the end is “do I like this or not”.
I can get a ton of fun all day long with a WHIP as I can with a Phenom or a CLYW or a DM2 or (insert something else from my collection). Price is a distant second.
Read the specs, see the shape, know your preferences. Then, read reviews and recommendations about the yoyos you are interested in. Reviews and discussions really help, but getting it in your hands is the best way to really know. The downside is that it costs to do that unless you belong to a club or hang out with other yoyo people and are able to access things you don’t have.
I’m not brand loyal in yoyo. I like lots of brands. If I had to choose a favorite company, I’d have to say YYJ. Still, I like lots of stuff by lots of companies and at various price ranges from under $10 to over $120.
Some people equate more money to more quality. This is generally true. In this case, we’re talking about something we’re going to get intimately familiar with and need to find an object that works best with our individual playing style. Look at the price differences between the yoyo that won Worlds in 1A in 2010($35 Northstar) vs 2011($199.99 Positron). Sure, a lot has to do with the player, but look at the yoyo they chose to use with an option to use just about anything they wanted.
Let me say this though:
The products available through YYE are quality products, otherwise they would not be available here. Yoyo is not a “one size fits all” or else we’d all be fine with Duncan being our only choice. But Duncan does make some good stuff. And so do plenty of other brands. As I said, I play stuff from many brands over a huge price range and I enjoy it all.
The bottom line is if you buy expensive and hate it, you’ve wasted money. If you love it, you scored! Price is merely a number necessary for the purposes of commerce.
just get whatever appeals to you
The price of my 3 favorite yoyo’s ranges from $15 to $100+ dollars. Price should not be a determining factor in how much you like a yoyo
It’s hard to find a bad yoyo these days.
what is this I don’t even I think that but then also I could and find then and neither but that I don’t even
