Could someone do a test please.
depends on the thrower. A beginner may struggle to get a minute. Someone more experienced may break 3 mins. This isnt a question that is answerable since there is too many variables to take in account.
You’re going to get a variety of answers because it all depends on how hard you throw. The Summit is a great throw and very competent. I come back to it quite frequently.
This depends on bearing used, lube (if any) used, cleanliness of the bearing, response pad type, response pad condition, string thickness, string brand, technique, muscle used, string length, string condition, the tightness of the last bind, the temperature, even humidity, and still more variables will ALL come into play.
Like I said, un-answerable.
to ease your mind, its sleeps long enough to make me happy, run my combos and practice sessions with ease. I own a normal summit and 7 summits. i love them both and wont get rid of either.
Dont worry about it so much buddy. just enjoy the ride!
The Summit is a strong yoyo, a lot of fun. It won’t be the yoyo that is keeping you from hitting your tricks.
I got 6 minutes with classic without string manipulation.
When you do tricks It matters how good your technique is.
While if a yoyo sleeps 6 minutes untouched it doesn’t means it will sleep that much while doing tricks.
Maybe you could do it and let us all know.
In reality sleep time is a poor indicator of yoyo performance. It depends on so many factors that would vary from player to player. Also, a yoyo does not just spin statically. It’s a moving object. The dynamics involved in doing tricks have a significant impact on the spin.
Somebody do a test Please
It’s a well known, highly sought after yoyo. It’s performance is on par with any other high end, high performance yoyo. So just go buy one.
I think you’re missing the point. The only way it might be of value is if you did the test. Perhaps you could get a better answer if you explain why the information is important to you. If it’s for evaluating whether or not you should get a Summit then that question has been answered. If you’re wanting to compare your spin time someone else that is different.
If I’m the one throwing it, I’m sure I will get at least 6 minutes easily on either Summit or Space Cowboy.
My record is with a different yoyo, 12 minutes 50 something seconds.
Just because a yoyo can spin longer doesn’t mean it’s better, it’s all depends on the player. You better off choosing the yoyo based on how it looks than how long it can sleep, why? because when you like the yoyo you will play it and you will improve. If a yoyo spins for a very long time but you don’t like how it looks, then you will less likely play it and you don’t improve.
It’s a rather complicated matter to explain why more sleep time doesn’t mean better yoyo. Basically sleep time mostly is a combination between the player’s skill, the quality and maintenance of the bearing, and the yoyo weight distribution. Generally, heavier yoyo especially on the rim/outer part means longer sleep time, BUT do you want a heavy yoyo that doesn’t play well, and only do long sleeper the whole time? OR do you want a playable yoyo for tricks?
i slept with my summit for a full 2 days it was with me in a car accident i was in a coma :-[
Since you don’t seem to care to much with the variables involved with your question…Mine slept for 23 minutes and 37 seconds.
^ Of course the main variable there is I taped cardboard flaps all the way around it and kept it going with my air compressor.
