Hi guys, looking for some previous experiences if any from the community.
I sold a yoyo last month but the buyer forgot to include his apartment number. Therefore, delivery wasn’t able to be made and “Return to Sender Process” is shown on the USPS status checking page. This is the latest update as of 5/28.
It’s been over half-month since then and I still haven’t received the parcel back. From some reddit posts people had similar experience, that package returning to sender can take months, regardless of the original shipping method you paid for (I shipped priority). In addition, USPS likely will not update the returning status with you.
So, has anyone experienced similar situation? How long did it take for you to receive the returning package?

When this happened to me I had to file a missing mail request and it took multiple months.
@MattC tried to send me a box once, using just stamps. It was too big to send that way but they picked it up anyways if I recall correctly, it was out for about 2 weeks, then went back to his house and he was able to reship.
I guess we got lucky though. It sounds like most peoples experience takes much longer.
If you can pm your name and mailing information… and the tracking number, i can probably get that package moving for you.
I deal with those simpletons just for sport, lol.
And no, I am not kidding.
……You must realize something> The Postal Service already made their money in the process of attempting to deliver the package.
They are feeling zero urgency to get your package back to you.
Your package is sitting on a shelf in a room full of ‘other’ dead money cargo. And they are fine just leaving it there.
Now and then they do an efficiency sweep and when they hit the dead money area, some Supervisor will ‘Move the Dead’ and your package will get rolling in your general direction.
USPS simply needs a little inspiration to generate motivation.
Thank you for offering help. Did the help request form last week and it was no help at all, will try missing mail search request later this week. If no promising result, I will PM you. Thanks!
