Trumpet valve lube, WD-40 (VERY little), 3-in-1 Oil, will all work.

No, that would ruin your bearing. Stick to what I suggested.

I find it to be too thin. My bearing doesn’t quiet down even after drowning in it.

Sewing machine oil works great for unresponsive lube!!!

+1 i use that stuff on my bearings its cheap and really thin! ;D

Gun oil, fishing reel oil.

I have 2 different types of trumpet valve oil that work wonderfully as well. You can pick up a pretty big bottle for about $6 at most any music store.
