i am trying to get the trick hook or trap whip. i just want some pointers because when i do it,it wont go all the way.

If you haven’t already figured it out, make sure to really follow through with your whipping motion. It’s common when you first start learning the trick to just make a jerking motion straight toward the yo-yo, or only in a semicircle from bottom to top. But you really want the string to move in a full circle around your finger, so in order to make that happen, you have to actually make a full circle with your throwhand during the whip to really get that string to whip all the way over. Practice and you’ll have the motion really smooth and defined before you know it.

I never really had any trouble with this trick… I saw it on another Website’s youtube channel and learned it that day.

All I can say is bring the yoyo as close to your finger as possible.

Make sure u aim the string at the top of ur finger right after the knuckle. That helps me

I actually just got this down yesterday, unlike the plastic whip, you aren’t trying to make loops and stick your finger into them. What you want to do is whip the string so that the loop hits your finger, flips around it, then lands in the yo-yo’s gap.

I learned it buy tons of practice and make sure you make the yoyo very close to your pointerfinger on nth and also make the hand that whips the string follow through. hope i helped
