I can do it with somewhat consistency, but the GT always ends up tiny. How can I make it larger so it looks nicer?

Don’t catch it so far down on the string and give it more slack.

^^^ simple as that. Put your non throwhand finger closer to your throwhand.

Helps to have a thinner string if you want them bigger. However I find old string works fine too.
