Looking for some recommendations, I haven’t bought anything new in a while, I have tried the sleipnir and loved it, have not tried the tricklab standard but I have heard good things. Anyone own both and prefer another? Looking for recommendations
I’ve tried both and the sleipnir is my preference. Are you going to be using these for 1a,3a, or 5a?
Sleipnir is speed oriented while Tricklab Standard is more of a casual yoyo
1a mainly
get the sleipnir
my answer is get a sleipnir for 1a comp, while tricklab standard designed for casual/practice play
I never thought to compare them, but I own and enjoy both. If I had to choose, Sleipnir would win out easily. Sleipnir is nimble, easy to control, and smooth. In my hands the Tricklab Standard feels comfortable in hand but throws more vibey and feels sluggish compared to Sleipnir. YYR’s recent run of the raw colorway is elegant without extraneous engraving.
Other YYR that I really like are Blur Autoscopy and Tricklab Standard. Similar price point to the above.
Blur Autoscopy is the narrower 1a cousin in the Autoscopy family - powerful and smoov. I consider this a great comparable to Sleipnir. Profile is sharper so less comfy to catch than the Sleipnir but feels more powerful to me.
Tricklab Hard Mode is Tricklab Standard’s slimline cousin, but is still an unresponsive yoyo. When I throw it I can feel its compact smooth power. What with the movement to practice with mini yoyo’s to improve accuracy, the Tricklab Hard Mode departs from most small-diameter/normal width minis and offers a normal diameter and a very narrow butterfly profile. Can EDC this in your pocket.
Thank you for the very well written and thoughtful response!!
