How do I pop up the yoyo for a thumb, finger, or arm grind?

Its pretty simple. If you have a unresponsive yoyo you snap your hand up pretty much. for me i do a laceration but instead i land it on my arm or what ever.

The pop isnt the hard part of a grind to be honest. The difficult part is the way you cushion the catch, whether it be your thumb, finger, palm, arm, whatever, you need to either pop it to the exact level of the appendage that you intend to grind on or kinda use your appendage to act as a shock absorber by slightly dropping at the moment that the yoyo lands so it doesn’t hit and bounce right off. Thumb grinds however you just need to pop it to the exact point and just stick your thumb in, try practicing to get the feel of them by getting into a plastic whip catch (or a one finger trapeze for a lack of a better term) and then just use your thumb to lift the yoyo, once you get the feel for it just practice, you will get it.
