At around 1:25 in this video you will see him in a green triangle. And with all ease he is able to get out of it, uncross his hands, and land in a trapeze. As with me, I am struggling just to get out of the triangle. I am a lefty if that makes any difference.
popping it out like he did is not only not all that smooth but much harder then the rejection dismount in my opinion.
Just swing the yoyo so it rejects the string. If you end up with a triangle rather then a strait string then swing it the other way next time.
Popping up like that, is fairly easy all you have to do is make sure the top string is out of the way before you pop it up.
