@Durfee it’s simple, stop looking at BSTs & yoyo webshops
Ignorance is bliss…you won’t experience FOMO if you’re not actively looking/engaging

This is one of many approaches i try but it’s often overridden by telling myself that I barely ever buy myself anything besides yo-yos.
I have something a little bit similar, I’m only buying yo-yos that fit my narrow range of preferences. But even then there are so many, even if I limit to brands I’m morally on board with.
I do have a list though not quite as thorough. The downside for me is when looking at it I’m apt to regret a few I sold and have to remind myself there was a reason I got rid of them. And literally the only thing stopping me from your BST is Facebook.
This is actually something I’m trying to apply at the moment. As much as I really enjoy most of them, there are definitely a few I gravitate towards over others. If it’s one I constantly want to bring out with me when I go out, that’s a good sign I like it more.
That’s another thing that occurred to me today. Why am I looking at yo-yo company IG pages if I’m trying to stop buying yo-yos?
I don’t follow any yoyo IG pages, never have and never will!
SMASH THAT UNFOLLOW RIGHT MEOW
I have not purchased one single yoyo in the last year and a half that I thought was even half as good as my One Drop Top Deck. But I never purchased something in order to find something better, it was just to try different things. I’ve been pretty darned happy with a lot of these purchases but it’s my Top Deck that is the only yoyo I own that I never want to part with.
This is a big trap for me too. Oh I like this, let me find something similar.
Yeah, I miss out on all the G2 drops because I refuse to create an IG account. I’m sure I miss out on other small run drops as well, but I’m okay with that. I have too many yoyos as it is and I’m not on the hunt for any more, aside from a few that aren’t available anymore that I’d still love to find on a BST at some point.
I like how Gentry @Gentry_Stein is now calling his Shutter B Grades “Trainers”. They’re intended to be used and played hard, so you ultimately become a better player through practice.
This definitely helps in a big way, leaving the Facebook BST group is one of the best yoyoing related decisions I have made for a long time.
I pretty much only trade throws with the exception of that gt. That being said there’s Always room for expansion around here.
I just try to remind myself that I have a collection goal. That keeps me limited now that I’m getting close to it, but there’s the occasional one off that I feel like I must have.
For that part of strategy I have my wife.
So what color string does everyone like to pair up with their black yoyos?
(if I can find one) I like to put white strings on my black yoyos, gives a nice contrast.
Orange, yellow, green. Orange is my first choice.
whichever airetic i have on lol.
You should consider a galaxy diver or the krown st for your next c3.
Aesthetically, I prefer white, but use green for visibility since I play over white floors most of the time. I’m not really sure it helps me, tho
Yellow string mainly, I do not play with much else
I’m not gonna lie…that gunmetal galaxy diver looks pretty nice!
white is my preferred color of string across the board. i’ll get a lime green/yellow if i’m ising a different string weight/thickness
