BTW, I’m not really soliciting suggestions for something “unusual and different”. I’m soliciting opinions on the Samurai specifically.

It’s a sengoku so you know its going to perform. I’d agree with the statement that it doesn’t feel as wide as it is with the rim tapering down like it does. Its weight distribution is interesting, it feels somewhere between a midring bimetal and a rim weighted bimetal, plenty of power and stability but doesn’t play like its on rails. Mine has a really nice blast, it grinds well, its super fun to do thumb grinds with it if you don’t mind the feel of stainless against your thumbnail.
The biggest caveat with it is that because it does feel narrow I’ll hit the outer rim against the string or my hand during tricks, but I adjust after a few throws and then I just have fun with it. Its enough of an oddball that if you buy it expecting it to play like yet another competition bimetal you’ll be disappointed, but if you are looking for one that plays really well while being different you’ll enjoy it.

The Samaurai is a really good bimetal. Great spin, light feeling without the typical clunky bimetal feeling.

I rather like the look of the Sengoku Oni. Unfortunately i don’t seem to be able to find one in green. My second choice is / was the Samurai. The Sengoku range do look rather spiffy.

I have an Ashigaru which is a very good yoyo. I’m also intrigued by the Shogun; I just wish it was available in red or gold.
