General Yoyo Thoughts

Be the change you wish to see! You should start the club!!!

Post up fliers at a local library (with permission) or at grocery stores or other local public places that are cool with it, and make a Facebook page

I may start a club once I can drive. For now, I’ll just try to get my friends hooked.

We haven’t met up in awhile but we have a group in Boise.

I’m aware, but I live close to 3 hours from Boise.

ahh in that case i assume you have a library near you and you probably have other homeschoolers in your area. you could try to start a small homeschool yoyo get together. homeschool families are always looking for activities their kids can get involved in and yoying is just as good as any other activity.

where there is a will there is a way. or even try doing something in your own neighborhood if you live in an area with people with kids around you.

more localized focus is just as good as broad clubs that encompass a 50-mile radius.

That’s not that bad
Unless your still too young to drive
Then that could complicate things

I’m old enough, just haven’t learned yet.

Welp now you have motivation to

Wait a minute, how can I invite people?

I secretly love that I’m the only one with that badge.

One day I’ll get a great share badge as well lol. Silly stuff. Sadly I have no memory how I actually did this I didn’t do it intentionally

I think you go to your profile > invites and create a new one and then share it in hopes folks join the yye community and create an account

I haven’t gotten any of the gold badges yet, but I may soon.

It is my opinion that yoyo people tend to ā€œover-consumeā€ this affectionate toy.

Therefore a simple a way to reduce yoyo overconsumption may include, tuning into your inner voice and recognize when culture is enticing you to act in the interest of capitalists.

Too many yoyos, Not enough hands.

Reduce Reuse Recycle~

But… but shiny and new….

Some brands play into this more than others

Why care? Isn’t that better for the health of the hobby than people buying less yoyos?

I think is a sort of double blade knife, leaving outside the consumerism bit which I am not interested in this topic.

Some people tend to get over fixated on the yoyos themselves and not on the game, they keep giving the fault to yoyos to the lack of their skills and jump from one product to the other or get so much into shapes trying to find a grail (that it doesnt exist) to do better horizontal or tech or whatever. Collectionism is part of the game and is an interesting one and is ok to go with it but I see during the years many people trying to change yoyos all the time following some sort of ā€œsolutionā€ that at the end of the day is only in your hands

What if it’s a Ti yoyo though? Ti definitely will help people play better!

Ahahahah ngl I tried some TI and never found any real benefit to it, for me the only apparent different is between, plastic, mono and bimetal but have to say maybe there is around a TI that is a killer

Lol yes I agree. To be fair though, I do think most of the people that like collecting yoyos, know that they will not be getting any performance benefits, and just like collecting yoyos. I am 100% cool with that also like, better than collecting cars or something lol
