Should I get a YYJ destiny with a crucial grooved bearing, everything else normal, or a CLYW big dipper with a takashei dice, everything else normal for freehand/5a
Both good choices. The Destiny was a Takeshi Matsuura signature designed for 5A play. It’s light, fast and stable, but the design is a little dated with slightly higher walls - Still an excellent performer, and at the sale price it’s a really good deal.
The Big Dipper is an all around excellent yo-yo with a shape geared toward more modern performance. It’s heavier and more solid feeling than the Destiny.
Since Big Dipper just released most people would recommend that, but I think it comes down whether you prefer a lighter or heavier yo-yo since weight is a bigger factor in 5A. You can’t really go wrong with either choice in the end.
