That is a cool chart. Maybe I over did it with the grey. It works really well that’s for sure, but curious how difficult it will be to get out later.
should be easy. the couple that ive done that i had to pull out for some reason came out like a pad but no adhesive, but i use the gear oil at the top end of hardness so not sure if that matters. shove a toothpick under it and run it around, should pop right out
the chart is from @fradiger and @IoSonoFormaggio and the thread is here if you’re interested Permatex thread
IMO it’s a bit annoying to get it out but with silicone it is a common misconception that you need to scrape out everything to re-apply, instead you can just ‘top it off’
Yeah when my ultra grey siliconed throws wear down too low and binds start slipping, I just top them up. I have never bothered trying to peel it out tbh
Has anyone had issues with using silicone in plastic throws? Will it try and bond to the plastic? Or any issues with it messing up finishes or anno on steel or titanium? I gave it a whirl on my beat up shutter and didn’t notice anything but, before I go silicone crazy I figured I’d ask.
There’s no issues with siliconing plastic response grooves.
