Annoying Pads

I recently used flowable silicone on my Dif-e-Yo Juggernaut. I did a pretty good job. Unfortunately, the thing is pretty snaggy. Even after a few hours of use. I used the transparent, glass type silicone from permatex. Will this take an eternity to wear down? If I get a few layers of string on the bearing it almost insta-binds right now. What do you guys say? Pick all the silicone out and try again, or just use the ■■■■ out of this thing and hope the pads “wear in”.

Flowable is best when you pour it recessed. If it’s flush like regular pads it’s gonna be snaggy. If you try it again pour it a little less than full then use the corner of a credit card to leave it concave.

That’s what I was going to go for if I tried again. This is my first time with flow-cone. In the past I’ve always just used Red RTV and recessed it with my finger when I “packed” it in.

I used Duncan silicone brake pads and trimmed them down with an xacto, plays incredibly well.

Also .555 hat pads are the same dimensions of the original dif pads and will work

No way. I thought I was SOL. With buying modern pads for this thing.

I used the spare pad set from my FH1, the inner diameter is slightly smaller so it requires a trim. I have not used the General Yo .555 pads, YYE has the “thick textured” variant in stock currently

I have an update everyone. I ripped a pad out because I was going to redo the silicone, and I threw it around with one pad just for the ■■■■ of it. It seems to have completely solved the problem. I think I’m going to leave it like this because running a single pad on one side is kind of an old school thing to do, and this is an old school cool kind of yoyo.
