Flowable or RTV?

I am thinking about re-siliconing my Superstar as well as a few other yo yos. I recently picked up

And was going to try it to see if it worked. But was wondering if anyone else has used this product for a response system. Another question is if I should get RTV red Gasket Maker instead.

It may work but I don’t suggest something I haven’t tried.
In my opinion and a lot of others, I’d use Permatex. It’s been proven by many people. There are even a few companies that have used it on production yoyo’s. You can get it at any autoparts store or the auto section of walmart. Flowable is also made by them. I usually like using the red. Comes out more orange but it’s about the best stuff you can get that will last the longest.

I’m w/ Icthus, the red hands down will last the longest. I’ve used the paintable version of the one you have listed, for one it was real grabby, and it smells real bad too.

Ive used the tube version of what you have, so it may be the same thing, it may be different. But any color RTV will last forever and do a great job, just not as convenient to install.

In the end I got the copper. I read that it lasts longer. But I am sure that it is up to debate. Finished my first Sili job. I will return with how it plays later. Also does anyone have any suggestions on how to clean out any Sili that got into bearing track or other places you don’t want it AFTER the job is done?

That’s the silicone i use in my peak. Only i bought a small bottle of it. Works Great

I just want to state that I missed something in my earlier post. Flowable IS RTV. It’s just of a flowable type. Copper will last just like the red. Blue won’t last as long as it’s temp rating is lower. Not all silicone will last very long. Some will flake and run out faster than others.
