Which one do you guys prefer flowable silicone or red RTV.
I haven't tried to silicone a yo-yo with flowable before. I do however have a FHZ that was recessed and the person who recessed it put flowable in it. Flowable and gasket maker both play really similar. Almost too similar to tell a difference. Gasket maker seems to give slightly tighter binds than flowable. The main difference is how they are applied. Flowable will flatten itself out where as gasket maker requires you to do the work. As I have said, I have never put flowable in a yo-yo. I don't see why I would want to. Gasket maker takes a little practice to get a nice even silicone job but after a couple of tries you get the hang of it. I have also found that flowable tears out easier than gasket maker does.
By the way, both are Room Temperature Vulcanizing. mrcnja shakes fist at marketing.
What he said.
I have found that flowable gives a little bit tighter binds, but it’s barely noticable and only matters with wide gap yoyos. However, I have also found that flowable doesn’t last as long as RTV.
