Looking ahead to next year already…did you all like the mall venue? I think we had a great turnout and LOTS of spectators. We only had to turn it down twice, so I would say that is pretty good. Let me know your thoughts…

The contest was great and I got 14th in 1a!
I will say that if it wasn’t for having to turn the music down then that mall is perfect.
To the best of my knowledge, the mall that we ran CalStates at didn’t complain. Then again, the event draws in a lot of people and many places see a 20-30% or more increase in sales. Money talks!
Yeah but this is a small town mall. Maybe eventually it will start bringing in more foot traffic. Then they’ll get more lax on the sound. But until then we must oblige.
I actually called the mall to thank them and tell them what a great time we had. They said they loved having the contest there and would love to have us again next year. She said that someone will complain about the sound at every event so we shouldn’t worry about it. Also, many people shopped while we were there and I think EVERYONE ate there, so the businesses did benefit from us
