Fixed Axle February 2026 Presented By YYBC

This is my first year. I’ve been practicing quite a bit but most of the tricks on the list are outside of current skill scope. I have however gotten zipper stalls down over the past couple weeks which I’ve been dabbling with figuring out since the summer. I’ve also been working on planet hops (not on the list but whatevs) and how to incorporate them into a combo. Past couple days been working on the back of the hand catch, getting better at them. Hope to get the lunar part of that down at some point too. Might start on trying to learn kick flips in the next couple of days.

I’ve really been enjoying Jon Gates Yoyolympics posts on Instagram gram. Nice to see someone covering some more basic tricks. I’d like to see more classic tricks incorporated into fixed axle February personally. While I didn’t have the time/energy to participate in it, some like the Bajablastbaybay invitational you hosted last month was fun. Seemed like the bar to entry was a bit lower and more accessible to players less skilled but also offered some more advanced tricks too.

I still can’t get that frog to stay in the bag, lol, and thank you for the share.

I really hear you on the classics and a resurgence/incorporation/mix in with the current regime of 0A tricksets. Some of Cowclops videos from the Baja Blast where he put a modern twist on the classics were just absolutely sick.

Honestly, Seth’s Fix Yo Steez Fridays series along with just selling off my unresponsive collection and a year of grinding has reinvigorated my love for yoyo.

It still feels niche, and like there is only 50 people, in a world of 6 billion, that seem to be on board, but those 50 are likely just the vocal ones and their are likely thousands just chilling and doing their thing.

The Baja Blast was a fun list, but I did film the whole list using a proto from MK1 set up responsive and a Duncan Hornet. Frog in a Bag on a fixed axle is tough. Modern Responsive March maybe?

My entries for Fixed Axle February are here, the tricks this year where pretty hard and l only managed to learn zipper stalls for this year new tricks. also did making da zines but it wasn’t to difficult since l already did this trick for last years FAF so l got lots of experience with this one :joy:.

Any advice for shooting the moon, been trying to learn for years but it still hasn’t clicked for me.

StM is one of those deceptively hard tricks, where it’s difficult to really explain, but once you finally get the feel for it, it kind of clicks and makes sense, sort of like Boingy-Boing.
I think what worked best for me (though everyone is different) was someone had once suggested to make sure your hand is at a 90° angle, like with the horizon, and you kind of “karate chop” it upwards. Again, hard to explain, haha.

These were the two that helped it kind of click for me personally:

People were talking about the response holes in my yoyos.

Yeah, I’m most definitely NOT the pioneer of that. I believe Colin of TMBR was first in his earlier models.

I’m not even sure if I’m the first to drill them all the way through, like in my Button model. I might be though.

This trick got me like: a cartoon character is sitting on a couch with his arms crossed and his legs crossed|833x619.5437499999999

Personally, I’m trying these tricks as often as I can, but I’m not one to post videos on the internet, even if the prizes are fantastic, but I think MRM is where I’d personally feel most comfortable

I didn’t really mess with MRM last year but I think I’m gonna check it out this year

Hopefully with everyone and their momma having a Deepest State now it will be a big to do

Fun with FAF 2026!
I just wanted to take a moment to share this AWESOME custom design by one of our sponsors, @Rich at Boise Woodworks. Big Ol’ Pagoda!

Don’t count this, already submitted my trick-list
Included a little from FAF 2026, some from past events, and just general goofing around.

Between him, Sickburn/Return Bottoms, Layer Infinity, and Throw-Yo, we have an all-star cast this year. Show them some love! Can’t go wrong with any of our star supporters!

Week 4: Camp is Still in Session

Week 4 already! Time flies when you’re slinging with the YoYo Boomers Club!

First off, it’s been awesome seeing the participation. The returning legends, the new faces, even @Slestak75 throwing together an acorn to try and get some tricks on the books, how nuts! (See what I did there?)

Everyone’s killing it. Like a summer camp aficionado in a hockey mask just looking for some friends. This is what FAF is about. Not perfection. Not pressure. Just people showing up, trying stuff, laughing at the chaos, and enjoying some fixies.

And let’s remind everyone again:
Even ONE trick gets you an opportunity to win free stuff.
One trick. One point. One chance at sweet swag. That’s it!

So if you’ve been lurking… this is your sign.
If you’ve been busy… now’s the time.
If you’re thinking “I’m not good enough”… nonsense. Camp Fixie the 13th has no skill requirements. Let’s keep it all going strong into the final stretch.

FAF 2026 is alive, weird, and slightly unhinged, and we love it!
