Fixed Axle February 2024 - Week 1

If you increase the torsion does it help? Or double wrap the axle? For less responsive butterflies I can double wrap the axle and still sleep but also get a snappy response.

I think i saw something posted by bobafret in which the artist said to use some chapstick on the string.

double wrapping the axle still doesn’t allow me to get enough friction to wind the yoyo tight enough. triple wrapping does but it also prevents the yoyo from sleeping

i’ll try this out

Welcome to the club!

Pinch the string just above the yoyo. Spin the yoyo clockwise several times to tighten the string around the axle. Keep tension as you wind up the yoyo. If that doesn’t fix it then chapstick.

From the man himself

Thicker string and cotton work better on the glass. I added a bunch of random string to try but I’m positive I put some cotton or thick poly in there.

Chapstick helps a bunch.

When it’s this unresponsive you can technically do a bind.
