I knew there was that size difference but I was hoping that operating as fixed axle might negate some of that. I guess not. I’ll remove that from the definitive parts list.
Thanks for that.
I can see the clip a bit with a magnifying glass, but didn’t notice the end cuts.
Perhaps i was digging at the wrong end.
Will try again
gap width is what causes kickback, or kickforward, not whether its a bearing or an axle. i’d still keep the recommendation up, no reason to delete the suggestion =]
Awesome submissions everyone!
This is your last call for submissions! Submissions for Week 1 are due in just over 12 hours at 12:01AM PST on Thursday, 2/8.
Sorry it’s a little late, I tried my best
Does it count?
I ended up using a Spinstar without the sleeve, and it kinda sucked but it’s the only thing I could do since I didn’t have time to run out and grab a butterfly. Hopefully I’ll have one by next week!
Back when it came out, someone here mentioned just taking the bearing out and tightening the halves together to make the RBC fixed and said it played better that way. Anyone still doing that? I like how it plays with the bearing too much and haven’t tried it.
I personally wouldn’t risk a yoyo at that price by overtightening it when a blank is cheap and works wonderfully.
I don’t think you over-tighten it, iirc you just screw the RBC halves together and the posts touch, forming a fixed axle.
I have tried it that way. And that’s how @MarkD has set it up when playing in fixed axle contests. I personally didn’t like it, it causes a gap between the axle and the response, so I found the response to be inconsistent.
I would be worried about stripping the yoyo or poking the axle through maybe it’s fine idk. I haven’t fiddled with it like that
It’s kinda nice putting faces to all these names!!
There are probably photos of the inside from when someone opened theirs to show the UN engraving. No memory of it, but my guess is that the threads go through the inner halves. (not to derail this thread haha).
I was thinking the same. My mug’s coming shortly once youtube finishes processing…
Nice!! Bullet brother.
My final 4!
I no longer believed that I would be able to get Lunar Stall and Reverse Stall up the video twice.
My week one, 3 of 4, just couldn’t get the reverse down.
Seems just fine to me.
It counts.
You really just took the transaxle out? That doesn’t sound like a fun yoyo to play
I’ll send you a butterfly for free if you’re having trouble finding one.
This offer goes for anyone in the continental US that wants a fixie and can’t get one for any reason whatsoever.
Yeah it’s interesting
I don’t mind using it for now, I’ll probably get one sometime soon, thanks though.
