FIXED AXLE CHALLENGE!!! ROUND 4..... (!)

Yeah the issue with Skinny’s entry is partly the catch, but also the yoyo stalls out after the first rotation so it is actually only a (big) single flip. I know it’s frustrating. Super impressed by your perseverance though.

I’m out too. Had so little free time these days, it’s ridiculous.
Anyway, this was fun. We should do this again sometime. If someone told me I was gonna learn moons in a day, I’d call them a liar.
Good luck everyone, you dudes rock!

So I put some of my responsibilities aside today, “worked” from home and took a few minutes to get this recorded…

Bring on Round 5

It’s 4.20am here and I’m falling asleep while throwing. I thought I would persevere until 5.30pm EST but I gotta sleep or I’ll be a zombie at work tomorrow. Still, I hit 2/3 of the trick! Congrats to everyone who hit it, and good luck for round 5! I’ll be eagerly watching!

ed heres my submission. I dont know why it uploaded it sideways. I hope its not a problem. Im using the same jensen kimmitt dink face wooden fixed axle I used in my first 2 videos

I think I did it? If not then I’m outta here. My wife will kill me if I try to take any more personal time.

Alright, I’m tapping. I’ve gotten nothing done today that I was supposed to, instead spent not sure how many hours I spent working on this. I’m pretty disappointed in myself for not getting this on camera properly the first three times I hit it. At the same time I’m proud of myself for making it this far. I don’t guess making it to the 4th round of my first contest ever is too bad.

Thank you for the opportunity, Ed. It’s been fun.

heres another upload in case my first one wasnt clear enough. im trying to pop em out as fast as i can

Chin up man… look what happens with you push yourself… now we hit it hard on IG. Gotta keep the Fixed Axle Misfits going.

Everyone that made it this far, that put hours into this, that landed the trick on or off camera, keep going. This is about fun, not winning. I have not had this much fun with a yoyo since I picked up my first one in 1988.

You got that right, everyone who hasn’t yet, feel free to go follow my IG (link in sig). And follow #fixedcircle and #throwdaily for updates. (Yes, I did just use this thread as a shameless plug, sorry)

There will be plenty of fixed/bearing yoyoing going on and plenty of fun to boot. Good luck in the next rounds, and as always, Happy Throwing!

This video is horribly out of focus, but I filmed at 60fps so you should be able to slow it down and see what happened. There are a few bad throws and then the full trick which starts about halfway in.

Round 4 comes to a close. No more submissions or edits, please.

There were a LOT of issues with this round. Filming was really difficult and a bunch of people had to reshoot based on minor details being missed. I know that’s frustrating, but I’m doing my best to run this fairly and hold everyone to the same standard. Here are the folks moving on to Round 5, which fill fire up in the next little while.

twilightmagester, your last kickflip looks like a big single to me. Can you email me the video so I can take it frame by frame?

Wicked bummed, this round got me. Thanks to Ed and YYE for putting this on, it was fun. Best of luck to everyone who made it through!

Waiting with bated breath. But I’m not getting my hopes up =)

See my post above. I need to see the video file to look at it frame by frame.

If you open the video up on YouTube you have the option of playing the video in .25 speed. But even with that its tough to tell

rizki,

Thank you for the inspirational words. Last night, I filmed several hours of failed attempts and decided it was over. Then I got a few minutes to film during my lunch break, and made one last push but could not find a groove. Once I read your post, I took another fifteen minutes to film around 4:30PM and filmed my submission - my face says it all, I could not believe it!!!

Thanks again for all the good advice guys - good luck to everyone going forward!

I emailed it, I cant send the full one due to the size limit on an email.

That was one if the best victory faces of all time. On par with some of Takeshi’s kendama faces lol. You could see all the hours of strain and doubt just fall off of you. I’ve been there. Sometimes it feels like I live half my life chasing that feeling.

To those who did not make it. I watched in awe with the effort you made. And to those who made it: GOOD LUCK IN ROUND 5!
